CACDSW: Dimmer Switch - Install Guide

PAGE CONTENTS

PHOTO AND DESCRIPTION

The Dimmer Switch module is hard wired to the mains power and uses wireless RF for the control communication. To comply with Australian / NZ wiring rules a Dimmer Switch module should always be used when controlling circuits that require the control device to be installed in the roof space. This module is only suitable for locating indoors however, it can control lights which have a suitable rating that are located outdoors or in wet areas. The Dimmer Switch module is not suitable for speed control of ceiling fans. Conventional dimmers cannot be incorporated into a circuit using an iZone Dimmer Switch module.

The difference between an iZone Dimmer module and an iZone Dimmer Switch module is as follows:

iZone Dimmer Module - Primarily use iZone wireless switches to control the lights and the associated lighting circuit is permanently powered on. This has the advantage of incorporating the light switch, AC temperature sensor and the movement sensor into one switch. If the light is switched off at the wireless switch l it can still be turned on from the App or via a schedule.

iZone Dimmer Switch Module - Uses the customers own light switch which provides ON/OFF inputs to the Dimmer Switch Module. The Dimmer Switch Module will interface with standard rocker switches, momentary switches and switches that use an LED indicator or back light on the switch. The advantage of this option is the customers can select whichever style of switch they prefer and can match the other electrical and data outlets in their home or office. If the light is turned off at the wall switch it can still be turned on from the App or via a schedule.

Wireless antenna:

The wireless antenna should be screwed in tight and after installation it should point up

Manual On/Off button:

To test the LED dimmer module you can press this manual on/off button to turn the lighting circuit on and off

Pair button:

To pair the LED dimmer module to the system ensure there is power to the LED dimmer module> Press the pair button on the module > . At the same time press the pair button on the App or iZone touch screen >The blue LED inside the module (close to the pair button) will flash rapidly to indicate the module is pairing to the system

Remove cover to expose terminals:

Remove the terminal cover to expose the wiring terminal. Wire in accordance with the wiring notation on printed on the top cover. There are also wiring restraint cable ties that should be used to restrain the wiring in place. This should only be done by and electrician

Mounting point:

There are two mounting points on the module to allow the module to be mounted to roof timbers

Knock outs for wiring / conduits:

There are two knock outs for wiring or conduits to located on the end of the module. Drill or knock out accordingly
