User Guide- iZone Video Doorbell (CVD)

Product Overview

The iZone Video Doorbell notifies you when someone rings your doorbell. You can see and speak with guests through your iZone Home mobile app on the phone. If you're unavailable, the doorbell can automatically play a pre-recorded message and allow your guest to leave a voice message. This guide will help you install, set up, and use your device effectively.


Installation & Setup Guide

  1. Power On the Doorbell

  • Plug in or connect power to the video doorbell.

  • Wait for the device to announce: “System startup, waiting for connection.”

  1. Open the App & Add Device

In the iZone Home app or the Nova wall controller, go to:
Menu → Devices → Add Device (top right corner) → Security → Video Doorbell

  1. Begin Setup

  • Tap Next to begin installation.

  1. Enter Wi-Fi Details

  • Enter your Wi-Fi name (SSID) and Password.

The doorbell only supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks. Both SSID and Password are case sensitive.

  1. Scan QR Code

  • Tap Next after entering Wi-Fi details.

  • A QR code will appear in the app.

  • Hold your phone in front of the doorbell’s camera and follow the in-app guide.

  1. Connect to Wi-Fi

  • You will hear: “Wi-Fi is connecting.”

  • Tap the “Heard Wi-Fi is connecting” button in the app.

  • Wait for: “Wi-Fi connection successful.”

  1. Finish Setup

  • Tap Done in the app. Your video doorbell is now ready to use!

Troubleshooting & Reset

Incorrect Wi-Fi details or failed connection (when doorbell says “WiFi connection timeout”) requires restarting the setup.

To Reset the Doorbell:

  1. Press the reset button on the back of the device for 10 seconds.

  2. The doorbell will say:

  • System reset”

  • “System startup”

  • “Waiting for connection

  1. Begin setup again from Step 2.

Tap on Category -> Security -> to reach to the Security main menu:

  • Tap on system to get into the Home and Away options- You can toggle between Home and Armed modes for tailored notifications:

  1. Pin

  • Pin the security system shortcut to the home screen.

Tap on the Video Doorbell to get into the Doorbell page from security -> then tap on settings icon on the top right corner to get into the Doorbell Settings.

Receiving and Answering a Video Doorbell Call

When someone presses the doorbell, you will receive a notification on your Nova Wall Controller along with a ringing sound.

  • Tap the notification to answer the call.

  • To end the call, tap the Talk button again.

  • On Android Devices:
    When someone presses the doorbell, you will receive an app notification similar to the Nova wall controller. Tap the notification to answer the doorbell call.

  • On iPhones (iOS Devices):
    The doorbell will appear as a regular incoming call. Answer the call as you normally would.
    To view the live video feed, tap on more option and click open in iZone Home option during the call to open it and watch the live stream while speaking.

Additional Useful Information:

Voice Messages

  • Stored on SD card (if inserted)

  • In newer iZone home app version: Menu → Notifications and Security

Event History

  • Motion-detected footage is saved to SD card.

  • Snapshot previews are stored in the cloud for 7 days.

  • Cloud snapshots auto-delete; manual delete not supported at the moment.

  • Snapshots can be viewed from: Menu → Notifications and Security

Night-Time Detection

  • PIR Sensor activates starlight at night

  • Recording is triggered based on the following factors:

    a. Proximity
    b. Movement speed
    c. Human detection

Red Lights on Camera

  • These are infrared (IR) LEDs for night vision.

  • They glow visibly in dark conditions.

Face Recognition Notes

  • Works only when human movement is detected

  • Does not block recording

  • To receive all motion alerts, including non-human, use Custom Recipe in the app.

Notifications & Doorbell Calls

  • Disabling notifications stops push alerts.

  • Doorbell calls will still ring through.
